Evolve CG is calling for entries in its second annual student contest, Heroes and Legends. This challenge will be open to all students currently enrolled in any computer graphic art or animation program (at any college or animation school) or who has graduated within one year of entering this challenge.
The Heroes challenge asks participants to study the ancient gods, goddesses, and legends and bring them to life once again. Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Nordic, the choice is yours! Maybe it is Osiris with a twist or a classic portrayal of Venus. We want to know everything that makes them the harbinger of death or the embodiment of lust and desire. Things like what type clothing, weaponry, or transportation they use that enables them to be the symbol for death, love, war, etc.? Where do they live is it some ancient palace or a future earth where the gods have taken rule? Just make sure to depict it all through your work and in your final piece.
Now, for those entering, we have created a forum designed to house this creative process. This platform will give students the unprecedented opportunity to interact and share both their art and process with other students from all over the country.
