Fausto De Martini started his career as a freelancer working for Advertisement companies in Brazil and got a job as a Cinematic Modeler at Blizzard Entertainment posting the Image “Marine” on CgChannel and CGTalk. Fausto is currently working as the Lead Modeler for the Cinematic Department at Blizzard Entertainment and he has been part of the production of world famous Cinematics such as “World of Warcraft” and “World of Warcraft Expansion”. He has many of his works featured in book covers, Graphic Card boxes and his work “Cyber Girl” has been featured on many banners at the last Siggraph for the ATI Graphic Cards advertisements. Fausto is currently working as an Art Director for the film cinematic department at Blizzard.

Being fascinated by interactive art ever since childhood, Teagan Morrison has always sought to work as a video game developer. Having gone to school for programming, but possessing talents in environment art, he landed a job at Naughty Dog as an environment artist. Naughty Dog recently developed critically acclaimed PS3 game Uncharted 2, on which Teagan played the role of Lead Environment Artist. He will be presenting a 3 hour talk on real-time environment creation for video games, giving an inside look at the process from start to finish. The focus will be on modeling highly detailed cutting edge environments, but topics will touch on many related aspects.

Ted Davis attained his BFA in Computer Animation from the International Fine Arts College in Miami, FL. He has foundations in traditional, modern and contemporary techniques of drawing, painting, sculpting and other mixed media art forms.

Upon graduating from college, he began applying his various skill sets into the field of Computer Graphics, ultimately becoming a texture artist. He has done work for major visual effects houses, video game studios, broadcast campaigns and freelance clientele. Projects include Speed Racer, Transformers 2, God of War II, Spyro the Dragon, Silent Hill Experience, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction. Ted is currently working as a senior texture artist at Dreamworks feature animation. Ted’s workshop will consist of techniques used to create a  shaders/textures for creating photo-realistic  creatures for VFX.

A game programmer / technical producer gone recruiter, Marc Mencher has been in the industry for over 25 years. In addition to representing the game industry’s hottest talent, he is founder and CEO of GameRecruiter.

Jason Ryan was a Supervising Animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios for almost twelve years and now he is a supervising Animator at DreamWorks Animation Studios.
After graduating from the European School of Animation (aka Senior College, Ballyfermot), Ireland in 1993, with a student of the year award from Don Bluth (creator of An American Tail and Land Before Time), Jason started straight in as a 2D animator working on various German feature Productions.  After a brief time in London as an Animator in computer games he got the call from Disney Animation Studios in 1995 to animate on Fantasia 2000 (Tin Soldier segment), Dinosaur (Kron and Carnataur), animation supervisor on Magic Lamp (CG genie in 3D), animation supervisor on Philharmagic (classic Disney characters in CG and 3D) and supervising animator on Chicken Little (chicken little himself).  At Dreamworks Animation Jason was a supervising animator on the movie Monsters Versus Aliens and is currently a supervising animator on Shrek4.

While working back in Ireland as an animator he also worked as a classical animation Instructor for the European School of Animation, and while working on Chicken Little Jason also worked as a mentor with Animationmentor.com.

Jason Ryan will demonstrate in his workshop a step by step walk through of how he sets up a shot, fromblocking the shot in 2d through the final 3d animated scene.

Hanno Hagedorn is a lead character artist at Naughty Dog. He has extensive experience working on games from many different studios and production environments. Before working as a senior character artist on Uncharted 2: Drake’s Fortune, Hanno was a Lead Character Artist on the critically acclaimed– AAA title –Crysis. During this year’s conference, Hanno will be demonstrating the full workflow of the character creation process; from beginning to end. This means a detail breakdown of his personal processes, and how he really goes about creating all the compelling characters, he is so well known for. Additionally, Hanno will also cover general reference gathering procedures, modeling & texturing techniques, and Zbrush normal-map extraction operations.

What is a Character TD? This one started out something like this…

Throughout his life Ryan Trowbridge had two main passions, art and
technology. Growing up in the rainy state of Washington he spent many
days indoors which included a healthy dose of video games. At fourteen
he had already decided on a college to further his passions. In 1999
he attended Digipen Institute of Technology located in Redmond
Washington. With a few new skill sets under his belt he landed his
first job as a texture artist for Pipeworks Software in yet another
rainy state, Oregon. He ended up staying at Pipeworks for six years.
His position quickly changed from texture artist to environment artist
and then finally settled into the position of modeling, rigging, and
animating characters. While in Oregon he was lucky to meet his
beautiful wife Brenda.
After six years of working at Pipeworks, a great opportunity came up
to work as a Character TD for NaughtyDog Inc in sunny California. He
was very excited to set up many of the characters for Uncharted Drakes
Fortune. It seemed like there was no way to top such an amazing
project. That was until starting work on the characters for the most
highly reviewed and awarded game of 2009, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
To date Uncharted 2 has received 98 Game of the Year awards.

Born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii, Kekai Kotaki has always had a passion for art. Finding the sunshine and beautiful scenery distracting, he moved to dreary Seattle in 2000 to attend art school. After graduating, he proceeded to attempt a career at doing art. This meant getting a job at ArenaNet, the makers of the Guild Wars franchise, as a lowly texture artist. Through hard work and more than a little luck he was able to become a concept artist.

Kekai can still be found in Seattle at ArenaNet. He is working hard as Lead Concept Artist on Guild Wars 2 and on a burgeoning illustration career. Kekai will be presenting a 3 hour workshop focusing primarily on Character Illustration and environment design.

EvolveCG was specifically created to help students in areas with low-to-zero animation industry presence or access, the opportunity to both learn and observe from some of the best Computer Graphic, and Visual Effects Artist in the world. This event is designed by professionals to provide a purely educational experience for both students and professionals alike.

EvolveCG has an amazing line up of presenters covering all of the different major disciplines of Computer Animation.
